FESTIVALS & LATE-NIGHT

Priceless

Priceless

2006-present, Belden Town, CA

Role:  Event Manager 2010-2017

Priceless is a 1,200-person three-night art and music festival up on the Feather River in Belden, California. We pride ourselves on creating an event that feels intimate and has a family vibe while still taking care to bring high-caliber music, a balance that can be difficult to strike while still staying affordable to our target audience. Priceless is known for creative and homey touches that you won’t find at other festivals—handmade merit badges, pop-up food booths giving away a free midnight snack, an elaborate costumed theme party in the middle of the afternoon, a secret teahouse hidden in the woods...

I was on the founding team for this festival back in 2006, and from 2010-2017 I was the event manager.  I led a staff of 70 with a crew of 100 volunteers, and I steered the event through growth spurts, regulatory change, evolving budget processes, and a population cap.

Role:  Event Lead

Each year at Priceless (described above) we throw a special themed pop-up party-within-a-party, a chance for everyone at the festival to dress up, come together, and show off their creativity for a few hours.  In 2007 I co-produced the first official party-within-a-party, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Each year at Priceless we throw a special themed pop-up party-within-a-party, a chance for everyone at the festival to dress up, come together, and show off their creativity for two hours.  In 2008 I designed and produced the party-within-a-party, a Dr. Seuss Unbirthday Party with an extremely elaborate decor plan.
